LEVICO LAKE
The distincitve form of Levico Lake, one of the cleanest Italian lakes, resembles a Norwegian fjord. Only a forested hill called Colle di Tenna, separates Levico Lake from its big brother, Caldonazzo Lake. As the name Levico Lake reveals, it is located close to the spa centre Levico Terme. The picturesque Levico Lake, surrounded by thick woods, mirrors the colours of the trees. This is also one of the reason why this lake has got a beautiful emeral green colour. However, when the trees change their colour in autumn, also the aspect of the lake changes and mirrors a beautiful autumn landscape.
Lovers of relaxation and also lovers of water sports will enjoy Levico Lake. Along its northern bank there is the pleasant anglers' path (strada dei pescatori), which leads you around the shore. As you are protected by trees, you can take this path also in hot summer days.
In the cane thicket of the lake, called 'Canneto di Levico', you can observe different water birds, for example migratory birds like common gulls, nuns and robins, which stop or winter in the biotope. Sports lovers come to Levico Lake to sail, surf and swim. Moreover, close to the shore there is the 'lido' with beaches where both adults and children enjoy swimming.
ALPINE LAKES
There are more than seventy small Alpine lakes in the Lagorai Chain.
You can rest, relax and have some peace while enjoying the view of wild mountains.
